DEPARTMENT OF URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING DIPONEGORO UNIVERSITY SUCCESS TO HOLD 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SMART CITY INNOVATION (ICSI) 2019

International conference with smart city theme was held in Semarang. 2nd International Conference On Smart City Innovation (ICSI) located in UNDIP Semarang (09/10). This event was opened by Mayor of Semarang Hendar Prihadi, S.E., MM. In his delivery speech, Hendar said that, “since from 2013 Local Government has been endeavoring to make Semarang become smart city”. This program in his opinion had encouraged a civil servant to be more effective and efficient on their performances.

This Conference also invited international keynote speakers Prof. Imam Buchori from Department of Urban and Regional Planning, UNDIP Semarang, Dr. Devitasari Tunas from ETH Zurich Switzerland, Dr. Manisa Pipattanasomporn from Advance Research Institute USA and Lecturer of Chulalongkom University Bangkok.

This event was result of collaboration between Diponegoro University with University of Indonesia, Padjadjaran University, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Menristek DIKTI), USAID, supported by Geomatic Lab and Urban Planning Lab of Faculty Engineering Diponegoro University.

PUBLIC LECTURE : POJOK ENERGY, INSTITUTE ESSENTIAL FOR SERVICES REFORM (IESR) AND MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND MINERAL RESOURCES (ESDM)

Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University with Institute Essential for Services Reform (IESR) and Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia held a public lecture (14/10). This event was an enlightenment program for student to give them information about renewable energy and role of independent energy organization in Indonesia.

This public lecture attended by Mustaba Ari from Ministry of Energy (ESDM), Eni Lestari from Department of Energy Central Java (Dinas ESDM JATENG), Agus Setiawan lecture and geothermal expert, Kristin Damayanti from NGO Trikajaya, Pamela Simamora from IESR and moderator by Marlistya Citraningrum from IESR.

This program supported by Dean of Faculty of Engineering Prof. Ir. Mochammad Agung Wibowo. In his remarks speech, Dean said “Nowadays fossil energy is very limited and not recommended to make more exploration”. He wished student can take an advantage from this program in order to learn another alternative energy. He added, “UNDIP are planning to sign a MoU between another Higher Education Institution and Energy Conservation Organization.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING COOPERATES WITH PT POWER BLOCK INDONESIA IN RESEARCH COLLABORATION

Faculty of engineering encourages their lecturer and students to be involved in many research through various research funding schemes, one of them is a collaborative research. Most common problem is there are gaps between the Industry as a user and Universities as graduates producers. It happens because industrial technology increase rapidly, meanwhile universities curriculum tend to change periodically. To solve this issue, Diponegoro University and PT Powerblock Indonesia sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) about research collaboration (27/9). In the future, this program is expected to be able producing competent graduates who can be relied on industrial world.

PT. Powerblock Indonesia is a leading manufacturer of construction materials with AAC (lightweight aerated concrete) lightweight concrete. AAC materials purchased are wall materials, floor panels and wall panels which should have an important role in the world of construction in Indonesia specifically for buildings, apartments and housing.

In his remarks speech at the Public Lecture held in the Hall of Civil Engineering, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Agung expressed his high appreciation for the collaboration, “Hopefully this Research Collaboration can be as beneficial as possible for Science and Technology, Higher Education, the industrial world and the wider community especially in the field of construction”.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND SOCIAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT PROVIDE MECHANICAL HAND FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

Faculty of Engineering cooperates with Central Java Social Service Department through CBIOM35 donate mechanical hand for 27 disability people. Monday (23/9) at Hall of Central Java Social Service, Vice Chancellor for Communication and Business Dr. Darsono, SE., Akt., MBA., Dean Faculty of Engineering Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, MM., M.SC., Ph.D., Chief of  PT CBIOM35 Undip Dr. Rifki Ismail S.T., M.T., and Chairman of Central Java Social Services Yusadar, S.H give those endowment directly for the recipients.

Diponegoro University as leading research university in Indonesia toward World Class University having a research centre for health technology named Centre for Biomechanical, Biomaterials, Biomechatronics, and Biosignal Processing (CBIOM3S). Over the past 4 years, CBIOM3S has been developing health technology products. They create bionic hand, infant foot therapy device, brace osteoarthritis for knee joint sufferer, prosthetic feet, parkinson diagnosis device, exo-glove for stroke survivors, and etc.

Dean of Faculty of Engineering in his speech said,” This program is real action from CBIOM3S for society. CBIOM3S not only give an advantage for academics purposes but also give more positive impact for everyone who need aids especially in health technology”. Chairman of PT. CBIOM3S Undip Dr. Rifky Ismail, S.T., M.T in his address said,” By giving a mechanical hand for disabled people, he wish they are able more productive in community.

ELECTRIC CAR UNDIP

Ft.undip.ac.id On February 21, 2017 held at the Rector (widya Puraya) Campus Diponegoro University, Diponegoro University Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M. Hum carry out a pilot electric car research Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Diponegoro University (Faculty of Enginering Diponegoro University) / FT Undip.

Present on the occasion of the inaugural test of the Vice Chancellor, the Dean and Vice Dean of the Diponegoro University. An electric car that uses a storage device power supply (batteries) is telebih previously been tested by a team of researchers who can travel with a distance of 50 km on a single charge power supply. Dean FT Undip Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, MM., M.Sc., Ph.D., in his report to the Chancellor said that the results of this study will continue to be developed so that in the end may be one of the featured products in particular and the Faculty of Engineering Undip in general.
