(13/7) A student from the Faculty of Engineering Undip successfully won the prestigious international competition titled KB Solveathon Tournament 2023. A student named Nadia Nursaidatina Arifah Putri from Environmental Engineering Undip class of 2020 won the title Champions with the Game Changer team after defeating 16 participants in the final round held at the KB Insurance Ingenium Building in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea
KB Solveathon Tournament 2023 itself is a debate competition organized by Kookmin Bank (KB) Group, one of the leading financial groups in South Korea, in collaboration with Debate Kora and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in South Korea. In this competition, participants are required to solve the problems regarding the financial future of KB Bank for 42 hours. In this competition, 16 participants from Indonesia were selected from 200 applicants to go to South Korea and undergo the final round with the participants from South Korea.
In this competition, Nadia with other four students from Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Trisakti, and Yonsei University, discussed in one team to solve problems related to the lack of public awareness of the services offered by Bank KB Bukopin as a subsidiary of KB Group in Indonesia. The team named “Game Changer” then offered a financial literacy solution in the form of a gamified financial system based on points and mission in one digital application. From this idea they made their way to the Grand Final and won the Champions title as well as other prizes such as competition money and the opportunity to participate in an academic exchange with leading universities abroad.
Nadia Nursaidatina Arifah Putri, one of the members of the Game Changer team from Universitas Diponegoro admitted that she was quite surprised to win this prestigious competition. She said that the participants had impressive backgrounds that made her feel less confident at the beginning. However, her team’s hard work successfully brought satisfying results. “In this competition, the participants also have cool backgrounds, some of them are IISMA alumni, and some of them are Mapres (Mahasiswa Berprestasi, Outstanding Students), so I didn’t expect to win. My team at that time worked really that they rarely sleep to solve the case. So it all paid off well and we won,” said Nadia.
In this competition, Nadia not only competed, she also had the opportunity to interact and exchange culture with the students from South Korea and discussed directly with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to South Korea. She advised other students especially from Universitas Diponegoro to dare to take the opportunities available so that they can win some day. “For me, don’t be afraid to pursue what becomes your dream, because becoming a champion here also requires a lot of sacrifices and failures. But, everything you lose is a step you take, everything will be paid off at the right time.”
(8/7) Research of Marine Technology (RMT) Undip has won a prestigious achievement in the international energy-efficient boat design competition titled Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2023. We exchanged knowledge a lot there,” he said.
Rico as the President of RMT Undip itself hoped that from this achievement RMT Undip can get more funding and wider research opportunities in the future so that they can develop their boat better. “Teams from other countries have to take a leave if they participate in this competition. They take a year off and focus on researching and developing their ship. Then the investment for them is also quite huge, some even up to billions of funds. So their research is incredible. We hope that we can be like that,” said Rico.

This seminar is a discussion forum that brings together all the students to exchange ideas in discussing the issue of sustainable rural development. This event was not only attended by students and lecturers from the Department of URP Undip but also attended by students and lecturers from Urban and Regional Planning UTM and the public.
The representative from Urban and Regional Planning UTM, Dr. Mohamad Fadhli bin Rashid said, this collaboration could be established because of the close relationship between the Department of URP Undip and Urban and Regional Planning UTM. Previously, there had been a meeting between URP Undip and Urban and Regional Planning UTM held on 10th July which resulted in at least four collaboration programs. “Previously, we do have several programs conducted before, at least four programs, between UTM and Undip,” he said.
In this seminar program, two students from UTM and two students from Undip will present their final project on rural development by taking the case study that occurs in Malaysia and Indonesia. From this event, Mr Fadhli hoped that this program can generate new insights for the students regarding rural development issues in both countries. “We gather all the students to hear the presentation from both countries and we hope that it will be beneficial for Malaysian students and Indonesian students, and to all the participants who join this program,” he said.
There were four titles presented in this seminar. Those four titles were then divided into two sessions, namely “Sustainable Rural Development” session and “Sustainable Rural Transformation and Livelihoods” session. In the first session, there were two materials presented, which were “Rural Development Action Plan in KEJORA (Tanjung Serindit Kampong)” by Andik Aidah Nadia from UTM and “The Impacts of Tourism Development on Sustainable Rural Livelihoods” by Nisa Sabira from Undip. The second session was filled with the materials titled “Rural Development Action Plan in KEJORA and PENGERANG (Felda Adela)” by Fatin Farwiezah from UTM and “From Rustic Roots to Tourism: Unveiling the Rural Transformation” by Adelaide Zalfa Syahrani from Undip.
