This event was attended by deans and academic staffs from various engineering faculty across Indonesia. The opening ceremony was held at the Engineering Hall, Dekanat Building 5th Floor. During the opening ceremony, there were approximately 100 participants who took part in the “Dean & Staff’s Course”.
The event was opened by HSE safety induction as a commitment from the Faculty of Engineering to implement the ISO:45001 certification mandate. The event then continued by singing the National Anthem, Indonesia Raya, and several remarks. The first remarks were delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Undip, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D
In his speech, Prof. Agung said that this event aimed to strengthen the relationship between the engineering faculties throughout Indonesia and also share the knowledge and innovation related to the best practice of organization governance and the development of the latest issues related to engineering education in the country. “I hope that later we can share experiences in managing the engineering faculty in this event,” Prof Agung emphasized that point.
Regarding the success of the Faculty of Engineering Undip in achieving the ZI-WBK (Zona Integritas Wilayah Bebas Korupsi, Integrity Zone – Corruption-Free Zone, a predicate for the best anti-corruption and the most integrity institution that was given by the Indonesian Government) predicate, Prof. Agung said that the Faculty of Engineering is widely open for every institution which wants to do a comparative study related to the implementation of the Integrity Zone development program. In the “Dean & Staff’s Course 2023” event itself, the Faculty of Engineering has prepared a separate session to discuss the Change Management Strategies that the Faculty of Engineering Undip and UGM had done (as two engineering faculties that have succeeded in gaining the ZI-WBK title) so they can get that prestigious title, “Later, ladies and gentlemen, you can learn directly about ZI-WBK at this opportunity. We are open to sharing our knowledge with the ladies and the gentlemen here,” said Prof. Agung in his speech.
The next remarks were delivered by the Head of FDTI, Prof. Ir. Selo, S.T, M.T, M.Sc, Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng. Prof. Yos in his remarks also mentioned the ZI-WBK title that the Faculty of Engineering Undip had obtained in 2021. For him, an institution is supposed to provide the best service that is free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism. The existence of corruption cases that involve some educational institutions lately has become a concern for Universitas Diponegoro. “Recently, many campus officials have been caught by the OTT (Operasi Tangkap Tangan, Arrest Hand Operation, by the Corruption Eradication Committee/KPK). This case is, of course, become a point that we should criticize as an educational institution,” said Prof. Yos in his remarks. Through the “Dean & Staff’s Course 2023”, he hoped that the Faculty of Engineering Undip can share about how to construct the Integrity Zone and teach the Diponegoro values to the participants.
The opening ceremony was then closed by a prayer session led by the Vice Dean of Resource Affairs, Dr. Ir. Abdul Syakur, ST., MT., IPU ST.
