(30/5) The Department of Computer Engineering (Departemen Teknik Komputer, DTK, or DCE) Undip organized a visiting lecture entitled “Virtual Citizenship” in the Theatre Room, Dekanat Building 4th Floor. In this public lecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Hamzah from the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Universiti Malaysia Sabah (FCI UMS) was appointed as the main speaker. Rinta Kridalukmana, S.Kom, M.T, Ph.D from DCE Undip was chosen as the moderator for this event.
This visiting lecture event is the result of the cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering Undip and the Faculty of Computer and Informatics UMS which began in 2022. Last year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Hamzah was also invited to give a public lecture in the Department of Computer Engineering. Where in this previous lecture, he presented material together with Dr. Ir. Melinda Nurdin, M.Sc from Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) about the role of computer technology for mental health in the 5.0 era.
Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T. SMIEEE, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, stated that this visiting lecture is part of a series of collaborations being built by the Department of Computer Engineering and FCI UMS. He also explained that there are four other collaborations that are in process with UMS parties, such as visiting lecture, guest lecture, joint supervision program, and student exchange. “Earlier we (DTK and FCI UMS parties) had agreed on four collaboration agreements before we came into this event. Hopefully, it will be useful for the students and other academicians,” he said.
This visiting lecture event took place with a discussion about what virtual citizenship is and how it is relevant and challenging in this digital era. Hopefully, students will be able to update their knowledge from this visiting lecture.
