On Tuesday, 9 September 2026, the Department of Environmental Engineering Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) once again hosted an international conference titled “The 8th International Conference on Environment, Sustainability Issues, and Community Development” (INCRID) 2026 at the Engineering Hall, Prof. Ir. Eko Budihardjo, M.Sc. Building, 5th Floor.
Under the theme “Accelerating the Circular Economy and Climate Resilience through Environmental Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation,” this conference brings together academics, practitioners, and students to discuss issues related to the latest technological developments in support of climate resilience and the circular economy.
Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Undip, Dr. Ir. Budi Prasetyo Samadikun, S.T., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of technological advancements and cross-sector collaboration to address environmental challenges nowadays.
“Environmental challenges are becoming increasingly complex… Addressing these issues requires not only technological solutions but also strong collaboration, strong environmental governance, and commitment from decision-makers,” he said.
To him, INCRID serves as a platform for developing innovative solutions to promote environmental sustainability.
“Through INCRID 2026, we hope to encourage meaningful discussions, sharing potential collaborations, and great ideas that can contribute to a more sustainable future,” he added.
This conference invites five keynote speakers: Asih Budiati, B.E., MBA., M.Sc., as Team Leader ASEAN EU Green Partnership; Richao Chong, Ph.D., from Wakayama University; Dr. John Bosco Niyomukiza, from Soroti University; Dr. Ir. Haryono Setiyo Huboyo, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., from Universitas Diponegoro; and Prof. Sadhan Kumar Ghosh from International Society of Waste Management, Air and Water.
In addition to panel discussions, this conference also featured parallel sessions organized into six topics: Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science and Technology, Green Infrastructure, Energy Conservation and Efficiency, Urban Development and Resilient Communities, and Sustainable Development.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Undip, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., expressed his appreciation for this event. He hopes the conference will inspire new ideas for building a better future.
“Through this forum, we hope to foster a profound exchange of knowledge, build robust international research networks, and generate innovative ideas that can be implemented for a better future for our planet.”
Following Prof. Jamari’s statement, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., Director of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity at Undip, hopes that INCRID can promote high-quality scientific publications that have a significant impact on society.
