ENGINEERING FACULTY SPRAYS DISINFECTANT TO THE ALL BUILDINGS TO PREVENT INFECTION OF COVID19

The Faculty of Engineering conducted efforts to prevent spreading of Covid-19 to all Departments by spraying disinfectants to all staff rooms, lecture halls, to the faculty’s mosque. In addition, the installation of hand sanitizers also can be seen at various points throughout the department, starting from the building entrance, elevator doors and toilets.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Ir. Moch. Agung Wibowo is fully committed to prevent spreading of Covid-19 in the most effective way. As we know from March 16, 2020 college has been closed and all of lecturing, tutoring and assistance activities are doing by online. While most of the staff and employees are also recommended to work from home. UNDIP READY GIVES FULL CONTRIBUTION FOR DISASTER MITIGATION

(24/2) Semarang, Dean of the Engineering Faculty, Diponegoro University. Prof. Ir. Moch. Agung Wibowo in the Workshop on the Implementation of Indonesia Earthquake Source and Hazard Maps and SNI in Materials, Structures and Building Construction in Building Structure Planning (Earthquake Resistant Building Materials) at Santika Hotel on February 24-25, said that UNDIP is an excellent university in the field of engineering. We are ready to give full contribution in efforts to tackle national earthquake.

UNDIP has various experts in the field of disaster mitigation, especially earthquakes and building structures, such as: Dr. Windu Partono, Prof. Dr. Sri Tujono and Prof. Dr. Han Ay Lie. As an educational institution and research centre, UNDIP is always updating scientific methods to anticipate disaster, not only engaged in disaster management efforts, but also begun studies to reduce the impact and even avoiding disasters.

This event held by Ministry of PUPR collaborated with Central Java Provincial Government, UNDIP, the National Earthquake Centre (PusGeN), the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI), the Association of Indonesian Soil Engineering Experts (HATTI) and the Indonesian Construction Services Development Institute (LPJKI) were attended by hundreds of people including national engineering and seismologists.

Dr. Windu Partono, UNDIP Engineering Lecturer as the moderator opened and guided the event. Another speech delivered by Chairperson of the Team for Updates on the Source and Hazard Map, Prof. Dr. Ir. The Mashyur Irsyam. He said that “Earthquake points in Indonesia increased 2-3 times, even in Java, the spread of this earthquake point almost reached 4 times from 10 points to 37 points. The updating of this data is not only a particular concern for government but also for the public in order they could be more responsive to face a disaster. (Mardian)

DR. ADIAN – THE NEOPHYTE IN SENIOR MEMBERS OF IEE

This year, one of the teaching staff at the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T received an honorary degree as a senior member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). Senior members are the highest level in the professional career of IEEE members. This award requires extensive knowledge, achievement in a professional career, and its contribution to the development of science. Only 10% of more than 400,000 members have reached this level.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association for electronic engineering and electrical engineering (and related scientific disciplines) with corporate offices located in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New Jersey. The IEEE was formed in 1963 from the merging of the American Electrical Engineer Institute and the Radio Engineer Institute. In 2018, IEEE is the largest technical professional association in the world with more than 423,000 members in more than 160 countries worldwide. The goal is the educational and technical progress of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering, and related disciplines.

The Faculty of Engineering should be proud because it has an outstanding teacher like Dr. Adian, He is incorporated in IEEE which is a world-class elite group in the fields of engineering and electronics. The Faculty of Engineering looks forward to his future contributions, projects and discoveries that will be made, especially the progress for Diponegoro University. (Mardian)
