WEBSITE MANAGEMENT IN THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

(20/4) Semarang – Located in the Theater Room 4th Floor, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, an evaluation of Website Governance in the Faculty of Engineering was conducted. Since the pandemic, major access to information has been obtained through digital channels. In this case, the website is the main gateway for an institution in cyberspace. The Faculty of Engineering realizes that good website management will also form a good impression. 

The Faculty of Engineering has 1 Faculty Website, 12 Department Websites, and 1 Professional Study Program Website. The number of websites within the Faculty of Engineering requires frequent monitoring to secure the information in it is always up to date and valid. Deputy Dean of Resources Dr. Abdul Syakur, in his speech on Wednesday morning, said, “A website is a fast form of promotion and information, effective and efficient, so it needs special handling in its management.” He also added that there should be a difference between Indonesian and English web news to help readers due to the aspect of service that has become one of the indicators.

Diponegoro University (Undip) Rector Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum., officially inaugurated officials at Diponegoro University on Tuesday (12/04) at 10.00 WIB at the SA-MWA Building Hall, Undip Tembalang campus. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Undip Rector, Vice-Rector, Chair of the Academic Senate, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Deans, and Diponegoro University officials. 

Then continued with the reading of the Decree (SK) of the Rector of Diponegoro University Number 2093/UN7.P/KP/2022 s.d. Number 2514/UN7.P/KP/2022 concerning Appointment of Head of Study Programs, Secretary of Study Programs, and Head of Sections in Faculties at Diponegoro University. 

A total of 25 inaugurated Undip Officials will occupy several positions, namely the Head of the Study Program as many as eight people, the Secretary of the Study Program as many as nine people, and the Head of Section as many as eight people. These positions include the Head of the Law Undergraduate Study Program (FH), the Head of the Accounting Masters Study Program (FEB), the Head of the Food Technology Undergraduate Study Program (FPP), the Head of the Medical Undergraduate Study Program (FK), the Head of the Medical Professional Education Study Program (FK). ), Secretary of the Business Administration Undergraduate Study Program (FISIP), Secretary of the Communication Science Undergraduate Study Program (FISIP), Head of the State Administrative Law (FH) Section, Head of the Physiology Section (FK), and Head of the Forensic and Medicolegal Medicine Section (FK). 

Furthermore, accompanied by their respective clergy, Undip Officials were sworn in front of the Undip Rector. The oath of office is carried out according to their individual religious beliefs. 

In his speech, Diponegoro University (Undip) Rector Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. congratulated Undip Officials who had been inaugurated and taken the oath in front of the Rector. “Happy work, may Allah SWT always guide all of you and provide guidance and convenience in your duties so that you can successfully carry out your duties,” he said. 

In addition, Prof. Yos reminded Undip officials who had been appointed that there was a significant mandate to continue advancing Diponegoro University. “There is a great trust that we have to work more and more. Because our job is to advance Undip, guarantee that Undip will sustain at any time,” explained Prof. Yos. 

“I don’t want to hear any comments that the Study Program, for example, is in service and just lazing around. There are only two choices, resign or be dismissed. Don’t make yourself into Undip’s problem. But soon became part of solving Undip’s problems.” continued Prof. Yos. 

More Prof. Yos hopes that the Undip Officials who have been appointed will continue to improve their performance. “I hope this position will be a blessing for your family. Improve your performance, not just the usual. That’s where the real gratitude is. We have to work hard, decisively, carefully, and always try to be the best, and keep trying to make other people happy, and our happiness is to see other people happy.” he concluded.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING TRIAL FACE TO FACE LEARNING

(15/10) Semarang, the Management of the Faculty of Engineering together with the K3 Team (Occupational Safety and Health) of the Faculty of Engineering checked the readiness of the Departments and Study Programs under the Faculty structure ahead of the implementation of face-to-face learning trial at Diponegoro University which was planned to be held on Monday, October 18 2021.

This readiness checking includes inspection the standardization of lecture facilities which would be carried out in a hybrid manner where students can attend directly in class or online. In addition, the FT K3 Team also ensures the readiness of Departments and Study Programs in carrying out the Covid-19 Health Protocol.

“Our task at the Faculty is to prepare facilities and infrastructure so that during the face-to-face learning trial it can run smoothly, if there are obstacles in its implementation, we will immediately evaluate and make improvements so that lecturers and students feel safe and comfortable”, said the Deputy Dean of Resources Dr. Abdul Syakur, ST., MT.

Meanwhile, the Head of the FT K3 Team, Dr. Manik Mahachandra, ST., MSc explained, “The importance of implementing K3 is our effort to create a healthy and safe work environment, so as to reduce the probability of work accidents or illnesses due to negligence that result in demotivation and deficiency in work productivity. Moreover, the 5M Culture (Wearing Masks, Keeping Distance, Washing Hands Using Soap, Avoiding Crowds, and Reducing Mobility) which was born during this pandemic has become part of the implementation of K3. The goal is that all parties involved in PTM will remain safe and healthy while on the move.

It should be noted that currently the Government through the Ministry of Health has determined Semarang City to be in the Level 2 Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) Area, so that it is allowed to hold face-to-face learning. In line with this policy, the Chancellor of Diponegoro University through the Chancellor’s Circular No.73/UN7.P/DL/2021 dated 27 September announcing the PTM trial will be held in October with the applicable terms and conditions. Students who were allowed to attend campus were those who had an ID card domicile in the agglomeration areas of Semarang City, Semarang Regency, Kendal Regency, and Demak Regency. And had received a dose of Covid-19 vaccination in two stages. (Mardian)

SYNERGY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY: UNDIP & TOYOTA SIGN DOCUMENT OF COOPERATION

(9/9) Semarang – Universitas Diponegoro cooperated with PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) through the Link and Match Program for Higher Education and Industry. The signing of MoU was held in the 4th Floor Theater Room, Dean Building, Faculty of Engineering, Undip. Present at this event Undip Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama and the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Prof. Ambariyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Ir. Moch. Agung Wibowo, TMMIN President Director Warih Andang Tjahjono and Director of Corporate Affairs Bob Azam and Central Java Provincial Government Representative Muhammad Arif Sambodo, M.Sc.

The first remark was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, in his speech, “he feels grateful to be able to work with a giant automotive company such as Toyota which is an outstanding first step to bridge the needs of the industrial world for the expertise of Higher Education graduates. He added that so far there has been a gap between the speed of industrial innovation and education with which industry is always up-to-date with modernization, while education tends to be slow and maintains a conservative curriculum. Therefore, there must be a link and match to synchronize these two things so that they can push the wheels of the Indonesian economy in the 4.0 era more significantly.

Similarly, with the Dean of FT, the Undip Chancellor also welcomed the initiation of this collaboration. He explained that Universities must have a broad impact on community life, one of which was committing the service by Lecturers, Staff, and Students. By cooperating with industries such as Toyota, he hoped that the benefits to society will be much greater in order for innovations can be more massive and on target.

Andang Warih Tjahjono as the President Director of TMIIN in his speech said that cooperation between the world of education and the world of industry is a necessity. “People Development” is the focal point of this collaboration. In the future, at least Undip and Toyota will carry out joint projects such as developing Small and Micro Bussiness in several areas in Central Java such as Jepara and Purbalingga, then research related to the Semarang Smart City development plan and updating tools and infrastructure at Undip Integrated Laboratory. In addition, Toyota also opened the widest opportunity for all Undip students, especially the Faculty of Engineering, to be able to do internships at their companies. (Mardian)
