(12/8) The Faculty of Engineering Undip officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Institute for Structural Analysis, Technische Universität Dresden. Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Undip was present to sign the memo together with Prof. Dr-Ing. habil. Michael Kaliske, Head of the Institute for Structural Analysis. The signing ceremony was held in the Senate Room, Dekanat Building 3rd Floor.
This memorandum signing was a part of the Visiting Professor program initiated by the Department of Civil Engineering. Prof. Dr. Ir. Han Ay Lie, M. Eng. as the Person in Charge of this program explained that the Department of Civil Engineering wanted to invite Prof. Michael Kaliske from TU Dresden to do research and provide materials in Civil Engineering through the World Class University Program. As a legal basis for the implementation of that program as well as to strengthen the relationship between the Faculty of Engineering Undip and the Institute for Structural Analysis TU Dresden in the future, both parties agreed to sign an MoA.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Undip, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D, welcomed this collaboration. For him, TU Dresden is one of the most prominent institutions in Germany. In addition, several academics from the Faculty of Engineering Undip have experienced studying at TU Dresden. This has left a positive impression and therefore TU Dresden was willing to collaborate with the Faculty of Engineering Undip. He hopes that this signing will have a positive impact on the Faculty of Engineering and TU Dresden. “We hope that this collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering Undip and the Institute for Structural Analysis TU Dresden will make both institutions become more excellent, especially in the field of education, research, and community service,” he said.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr-Ing. Habil. Michael Kaliske, the Head of the Institute for Structural Analysis Technische Universität Dresden, expressed his gratitude towards the Faculty of Engineering Undip for the collaboration between the two institutions. He hoped that with this collaboration TU Dresden can continue to collaborate with other universities in Indonesia. “It’s great to be able to visit and collaborate with the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Diponegoro. We have collaborated for 12 years with various institutions in Indonesia and now we are finally able to collaborate with the Faculty of Engineering Universitas DIponegoro,” he said.
