(22-23/5) Universitas Diponegoro held its 170th Graduation Ceremony at Prof. Soedarto, S.H Building. At this period, the event was divided into 8 parts which ran for 4 days and started from 22 May to 25 May 2023. There were around 2093 graduates that successfully graduated from Universitas Diponegoro in this graduation period, in which 311 of them graduated from the Faculty of Engineering.

The graduates who participated in this 170th graduation came from various study programs, in which the majority coming from the Bachelor Program of Civil Engineering with 54 graduates. In addition, graduates from Graduate programs also graduated along with the graduates from other Undergraduate programs. In this graduation period, the Faculty of Engineering received quite satisfying results. There were 140 graduates who succeeded in getting the cum laude title. Of those 140 cum laude graduates, 107 of them came from undergraduate programs, 29 graduates from master’s programs, and 4 graduates from doctoral programs. In addition, there were 5 graduates who managed to get a double degree, namely Dapit Saputra and Kiki Nidya Stephanie from the Master Program of URP who obtained a double degree from Hiroshima University, and M. Nur Fajri, Ratna Amelia, and Deciana Matiur Ria Napitupulu from Master Program of URP who received a double degree from Technische Universität Berlin.

The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Yos Johan Utama, S.H, M.Hum, had the opportunity to give a speech and message to the graduates at this graduation ceremony. He said that he was very proud of the graduates for completing their studies well. In addition, by quoting a classical Javanese proverb, he advised the graduates to always be humble in society even though they now have received an educational degree. “Lamun sira sekti aja mateni, lamun sira pinter aja minteri, lamun sira banter aja nglancangi (If you are powerful, don’t kill the other, if you are smart, don’t outsmart the other, if you are fast, don’t pass the other)” said Prof. Yos in his remarks.

In this 170th graduation ceremony, the graduates from the Faculty of Engineering have their turn to be graduated for two days, namely Part I until Part III which coincided with 22 – 23 May 2023.
