Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), a leading research-oriented public university in South Korea, currently offers talented students from across the world an opportunity to experience the research environment at DGIST.

Are you interested in gaining research experience and exploring Korean cultural activities? Do you aspire to study abroad, enhance your research skills, engage with international students, and participate in intercultural activities? This program would be the perfect choice for you.

At DGIST, you will do an internship at your own chosen laboratories under the guidance of DGIST faculty members as visiting research interns for 5 weeks, starting from June 24 to July 26, 2024.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate student with at least 4 completed semesters
  • Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.3 or higher
  • Students with high levels of English language proficiency
  • Student visa (D-2) holders in Korea are not eligible for this program, except for DGIST students.

Benefits

  • Financial Support
    Participants will get the program fee waiver and receive around KRW 759.000 for accommodation and meals within 1-2 weeks of arrival. Participants only cover for registration expenses, airfare, insurance, visa,  etc.
  • On-campus Accommodation
    Participants are arranged to stay at on-campus Student Dormitory with accommodation fees of approximately KRW 7.510 a day
  • Korean Cultural Activities
    International students will have the opportunity to experience Korean culture and society firsthand every two weeks with no additional fee.
