Department of Chemical Engineering Diponegoro University collaborated with the Engineering Faculty of The University of Newcastle (UON) Australia held a Webinar “University of Newcastle and Diponegoro University Articulation details” as a continuation of the plan to sign the MoU Double Degree Program between the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) of Chemical Engineering, UNDIP with Chemical Engineering, UON.

Presented from UON Associate Professor Jamie Mackee as Associate Dean of the International Faculty of Engineering UON, Senior Lecturer Dr. Peter Ireland as the Convenor Chemical Engineering Program and Ms. Bhavana Chilaka as Senior Engagement Officer. While from the Faculty of Engineering the Vice Dean of Academic Dr. Siswo Sumardiono, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering Dr. Ing Suherman, Chair of the Undergraduate Study Program Dr. Nita Aryanti and International Office Coordinator of the Engineering Faculty Dr. Dessy Ariyanti.

The webinar was attended by around 55 Chemical Engineering students both in the IUP and regular programs. Discussed began with an introduction from each university then continued with an explanation of the double degree program including curriculum, study time, scholarships and admission requirements.

The discussion was quite interactive, many students questioned and expressed their interest in participating in the double degree program. The UON was very optimistic about the implementation of this program and if this program could be implemented. It is possible to have further collaboration by cooperating with another IUP in the Faculty of Engineering. (Mardian)
